Meet our next nominee Deborah Robbins, CRM from Phoenix, Arizona. Deborah is currently the Chair of the ICRM Mentoring Committee. She started mentoring in 2017 after becoming a CRM herself in November 2016. Deborah has successfully led virtual study groups of over 30 people from across the US and in Canada. She actively promotes the importance of the CRM and CRA as well as the importance of becoming a mentor. “Deborah is a gifted teacher. As a mentor she is caring, encouraging, supportive and tireless in her efforts to help those around her…She goes out of her way to make herself available in both a group setting and one on one.” Congratulations Deborah for being nominated for this year's Mentor of the Year Award!

Meet our Mentor of the Year nominee Arlyce Vogel, CRM from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Arlyce is a 2016 retiree from Wisconsin Energy Corporation in Milwaukee. She is on the administrative team of URIM and she has achieved the CEDS accreditation. Arlyce has been an active mentor for several years. “Arlyce has the credentials, experience and knowledge needed to excel as a mentor. She was very patient and kind with me. I am truly thankful that Arlyce was my mentor for exam 6. With her help, direction and instruction I was able to have the confidence I needed to pass Exam 6.” Congratulations Arlyce for being nominated for this year's Mentor of the Year Award!

2021 Mentor of the Year Award Guidelines

The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) established the Mentor of the Year Award at their Spring Board Meeting in April 2011.  The award was originally created to recognize Alan Andolsen, for his contributions to the ICRM through mentoring.

Qualifications for this award shall be as follows:

A Certified Records Manager (CRM) in good standing who has contributed significantly to mentoring on behalf of ICRM.  Individuals may nominate themselves, be nominated by an ICRM member or non-member (i.e. President of an ARMA Chapter or employer), and meet the following eligibility requirements:

1. Involved in individual mentoring and coaching over a longer than one-year period and have impacted more than one individual
2. Not a previous winner of the ICRM “Mentor of the Year Award”
3. Former Board members are eligible two years after their departure from the Board

The ICRM may take other relevant information into account.

The award will be presented at the ICRM Virtual Annual Business Meeting on Friday, December 3. 

Please complete the nomination form and provide a professional photo of the nominee (300 dpi JPG). Testimonials on how the nominee specifically assisted the mentee(s) in their quest to be certified are encouraged, but not required. Submissions must be completed by Friday, September 17, 2021 (close of business day EST) to the Chairman of the ICRM Board of Regents and Awards & Nominations Committee.

The ICRM Board of Regents approved a reorganization of the board at its July Board Meeting.  The President-Elect will be assuming the responsibilities of the Treasurer starting in January 2022 as the President-Elect/Treasurer. As a result, the ICRM will be discontinuing the position of the Secretary/Treasurer. These changes have created an opportunity to make room for a new Board Position, Regent, Marketing and Communications. 

Due to the efficiencies our current Secretary/Treasurer Ellie Maier has created over the past several years along with strong support from our Management Company, Capitol Hill Management Services, most of the time-sensitive detailed work of the Secretary/Treasurer board position has been reduced. Moving the oversight responsibilities of the Treasurer to the President-Elect provides an opportunity for the new President-Elect/Treasurer to understand the operations of the ICRM at the start of their time on the Executive Committee.

The Marketing Committee and Webmaster supports all areas of the ICRM. Providing a seat on the board to engage in early discussions will benefit all Regents, Committees, and ultimately our membership. 

Please join us in welcoming the newly Board Appointed Regent, Marketing & Communications, Jerry Lucente-Kirkpatrick, CRM, IGP.

Jerry worked on developing the ICRM Mentoring Committee which led him to serve as the first ICRM Mentoring Committee Lead for Parts 1-6. As a result of his success leading the Mentoring Committee, he was moved over to Marketing as the Committee Lead.  With the support of President-Elect Andrew Ysasi, Jerry has brought structure and depth to the ICRM’s marketing activities. Revising the Committee Lead to a Regent position to represent the Marketing Committee and Webmaster will allow the ICRM to continue to grow and communicate more effectively with members, candidates, and prospects. 

Jerry enjoys bringing order out of chaos through managing records and information, loves sharing nature with his husband, their 19-year old daughter, and two dogs. He is passionate about volunteering with the ICRM as a way of giving back to the RIM profession that has provided him with so much enjoyment.

The Regent, Marketing & Communications position will be open to election in 2022.
